BOOM!
BOOM! is a one of a kind volunteering project for 16 – 25 year olds.
Once you’re a BOOM! volunteer it’s a great opportunity to be part of and help your community by
learning and putting into practice film making and creative media skills through your local youth
club.
It’s all about making films to raise awareness of local issues and campaigning for change.
BOOM! will challenge you to make films about where you live, what you think, your interests, your
passions, your concerns – and then consider how your films can help make a positive difference.
All BOOM! films once uploaded can be viewed on this site - and the best ones will be chosen to be broadcast on-air across MTVUK channels.
The BOOM! project is a partnership between Clubs for Young People and v and MTV.

What is V?
v is trying to change the perception of 16-25 year olds across
England by getting them to volunteer in all sorts of projects all over
England. They run some projects themselves, but they also fund companies
like MTVUK to create projects that offer opportunities for 16-25s to make a
difference and develop their skills at the same time.

TOP TIPS To get your film seen on MTV
We want to make sure that as many of the BOOM! entries as possible are suitable for broadcast on
MTV, so here are some points to remember when filming and uploading your film.
1.Your submission must be your own original work and should not contain any copyright music or
samples
2.You should get permission from everyone who appears in the film before uploading it to MTV
Flux
3.To be suitable for broadcast on MTV, your film needs to comply with UK broadcasting regulations
about taste, decency and fairness. Most of these rules are common sense, but please be careful to
avoid featuring:
- advertising or reference to brands and products
- alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, guns, violence or weapons
- offensive material including swearing, nudity/sexually explicit material, derogatory comments
about ethnic/religious/social groups and so on
- dangerous activities that other people might copy
Think you can manage that? Upload your film here! Then write a blog entry on your Flux profile
and tell about your film and how you made it.
